Comprises 8pp text by Meyer Schapiro, including Commentary on each plate; followed by 15 tipped-in colour plates with printed plate number, brief description and location at time of printing concealed below plate. The 16th plate is on the front-cover beneath the cellophane. Contents: The Card Players; Uncle Dominic as a Monk; View of Auvers; Chocquet Seated; The Bay from L'Estaqe; View of Gardanne; The Bather; Mountains in Provence; Madame Cezanne in the Conservatory; Still Life with Basket of Apples; Tulips and Apples; Boy with Red Vest; Portrait of Gustave Geoffroy; Still Life with Cupid; Self-Portrait with Beret; Mont Sainte Victoire. Quality production and materials used; designed to be broken and framed. 14¼" x 10¾", card covers covered in cellophane. Small (less than 2" x 2", iregular) loss of cellophane to lower-left corner of front cover, fine.

Illustrated with 33 monochrome 'phototype' reproductions of Manet's work. Stitching weak; covers slightly 'dusty'; slight wear at foot of spine; the odd fox spot; very good.

Clark(intro.), Kenneth - More Details from Pictures in the National Gallery. Gallery Trustees, 1st, 1941. 13¼" x 10", 116pp, light blue cloth, hb. Illustrated with 100 monochrome reproductions, printed on both sides of the page. The book was printed by Harrison and Sons, the high quality security printers (UK postage stamps etc) and the reproductions are of good quality. Spine faded, boards patchily faded, small mark on front board, very slight foxing here and there, internally generally very good, no wrapper.
