Illustrated with 54 plates (2 colour inc. a tissue-guarded frontispiece, and 52 monochrome of which several are sepia). All plates are printed on 1 side only. 8¾" x 8¼", 76pp plus 54 plates, orange buckram, hb. School prize with school emblem and Latin motto blocked in gold, on lower half of front board (Southwell Minster Grammer School), attractive design. No prize label. Top-edge gilt. Spine somewhat faded, very slight bump to top-front corner, o/w very good, no wrapper.

Illustrated with monochrome photographs within the text. Very good (no inscriptions, no bumps, NOT ex-library), complete with good (general edge-wear) wrapper, NOT price-cut.

Beningfield, Gordon - Hardy Landscapes. Viking, 1990, 1st. Here is a portrait of the part of England where Thomas Hardy was born and where he set so many of his best loved novels, short stories and poems. ... contains sumptuous reproductions of painting which not only jcapture the spirit of the countryside that Hardy knew, loved and described so memorably, but also reflect the passion of a lifetime on the part of the artist. ... corners of the countryside that have remained relatively unscathed by the ravages of modern farming, so evoking the beauty of the landscape as it must have appeared in Hardy's day (Wrapper flap). 9¾" x 13½", 64pp, light-grey cloth, gold blocked spine lettering, hardback. Illustrated in monochrome and colour by Beningfield (specifically for this book). Fine (no bumps, no marks, no damage, no inscriptions), complete with similar wrapper that has very slight edge-wear (NOT price-cut, NOT ex-library).

Tomlinson, and Charles Wheeler. Odhams 'New Educational Library' series, not dated, 1961?, 9" x 6", 384pp, red buckram, hardback, index. Illustrated with monochrome photographs (plus a few colour). Slightly sunned spine, otherwise virtually as new, no wrapper (as issued, I believe). Above average.

Bradley, Helen - And Miss Carter Wore Pink: Scenes from an Edwardian Childhood. Jonathan Cape, 1st, 1971. 10½" x 11½", 32pp, blue cloth, hb. Illustrated with colour reproductions of Bradley's work. Four faint 'spots' on the title-page, two faint 'spots' on page 2 and 3 in corresponsing places, o/w near fine c/w fine wrapper.

Braley, E. F. - Black~Board Drawing. For the Sunday School Teacher, but generally applicable. Henry B. Saxton (Nottingham), 1st, 1917. Foreword by Edwyn, Bishop os Southwell. Illustrated with 80 examples. 8¾" x 5½", 48pp, stiff paper, softback. The cover is in poor condition: split in half but repaired and with much of the top and bottom edges chipped back about ½" on average; pencil inscription on first page, staples rusty but practically no adjacent staining, contents in remarkably good condition. Bit of an odd item.

Brangwyn, Frank - Famous Water~Colour Painters I. Introduced by G. S. Sandilands. The Studio Ltd, 1st, 1928. Illustrated with colour Photogravure reproductions of 'Interior of Church, Poictiers' (9" x 7"), 'Cathedral, Eu' (7" x 8"), 'Unloading at London Bridge' (7" x 9"), 'Blast Furnace, Hammersmith' (6½" x 9"), 'Caravan and Gypsies' (6¾" x 9"), 'Rio Di San Trovaso, Venice' (7" x 9"), 'The Bridge, Espalion' (6¼" x 9") and 'The Windmill, Ditchling' (6¾" x 9"). Each plate is mounted on a blank page and protected with a glassine insert that has the plate no., title and owner (at the time) of the original printed on it. 12" x 9¾", 24 leaves, dark reddish-pink paper with white paper title-label onlay (3" x 6"), hb. The front board is very slightly 'bowed', generally fine c/w a wrapper that is somewhat 'dusty', is chipped at the folding edges with some slight portions missing and has a small extroneous patch (3" x ¼" at widest) on the front, centre; generally very good.
