Henry
VII (1457 - 1509)Margaret Beaufort's most famous grandson appears in sumptuous dress. He is shown in ruby robe with a jewel of gold, ruby, diamond and sapphire at the breast, and for a head-dress wears a jewelled cap and coronet of four hoops studded with pearls. He window is surrounded by smaller pictures of various coats of arms associated wit the king, and with his other royal symbols, the Fleur-de-Lys, Tudor Rose, Portcullis, red dragon and (interestingly) a Dun Cow -- a war trophy captured by the Earl of Richmond after the Battle of Bosworth Fields, allegedly a banner made of 'a yelowe Tarterne in which was paynted a dunne cow'.
