Heraldic Animals

The crowed eagle on the left  is part of the crest of Oliver St John, the first member of his family to settle in Battersea.  It is here surmounted by the coronet of a Viscount, and is reproduced to fill up the space in the tracery above the full arms of Oliver St John.

Matching the eagle on the left, the falcon crest of John St John, who paid for the window, is reproduced above his full coat of arms on the right of the window.  There is however no coronet as John St John was only a knight.
