MTX from Czechoslovakia
MTX have been in existence since the early 1970's. Today they produce Buggies,
Convertible versions of Skodas, and prototypes. During the Communist era
they designed and produced single seat racing cars and an exciting sports supercar.
The MTX V8 featured a mid mounted, aircooled V8 engine with four overhead
camshafts. The engine was made by
Tatra and was
based on the unit used in their T613 car. Two engine sizes were available:
3.5 Litres and 4.0 Litres which produced power outputs of 220 BHP and 300
BHP.
The bigger engine gave the cars a top speed of about 165 MPH and a 0-60
time of about 5 seconds.
