A Kleinschnittger could well be the smallest and slowest sports car ever made.

This tiny, two seat , open top car was powered by a small 125cc single cylinder two stroke engine made by Ilo.

The bodywork was made of aluminium, as can be seen in the partly restored example pictured above.

The cars were made in Germany between 1950 and 1957. A few were also made in Belgium under the name Kleinstwagen.

Top speed was around 25 to 30 mph.
