Next, my Husband cut out the MDF to the cardboard pattern, a large doorway was cut
for the water wheel axle to pass through and link it to the spur wheel on the inside
which in turn linked to the spur gear on the mainshaft to turn it and provide the power
to lift and trip the hammers.
All taped up! I haven't finished designing the door, so no windows etc cut yet!

Outside the forge house a hole had to be cut in the base to sink the water wheel into.
A paper pattern was placed on the wall where another hole was to be made,
which depicts the size and height of the hearth in relation to one of my little helpers.
