TOP FINNISH THROWERS TAKE SOME WINTER SUN.

With much of Finland still shrouded in snow,
Finland's top javelin throwers are at present training
in warmer climates - 

Three of the top men, World champion Aki Parviainen, 
world junior record holder Harri Haatainen and Juha 
Laukkanen are at present on the Portuguese island of 
Madeira. Training with them is women's European bronze
medallist Mikaela Ingberg.

Aki Parviainen is said to be in excellent condition with
his pre-season test results better than ever.

1991 world champion Kimmo Kinnunen and former 
world junior champion Taina Uppa are both training in
mainland Portugal.
