Gambia - Where to stay
Accommodation in The Gambia can range from
pampered luxury to the flea pit from hell. This page is intended to give you an insight
as to what is available and for what price. During the main tourist season,
November - April, accommodation can be at a premium except for the most
expensive hotels. For the unseasoned traveller it's always a good idea to arrange
accommodation through a package deal before arriving. However, it
is possible for anyone on a flight-only trip to pre-book clean but cheap
accommodation prior to travel, as shown below under"Budget".

Privately owned property that can be rented for less than a group of four would pay for a tourist hotel.
Topflight tourist hotels and luxury lodges in Gambia. Much
cheaper if booked as a package deal.
Tourist hotels in Banjul and around the Kombos. Once again much
cheaper if booked as a package to Gambia. Decent budget accommodation for the independent
traveller to Gambia. Reasonable at around £10 or $15 per night. One or two flea pits to be avoided in Gambia, unless you are really
desperate. Around £5 or $7 per night if you have a strong
stomach.
