(14) XLC1S (originally B514CBD) was a rare Mercedes-Benz 0303 with Jonckheere bodywork and came into the Midland Fox fleet with the Fairtax buisness in 1988 and was used as a "Top Link" coach for about five years.

(26) D26BNH has a rare combination of Bedford chassis and Caetano bodywork that was aquired with the Heeps of Guilsborough buisness in 1988. It stayed with Midland Fox for about five years initally at Market Harborough then at Melton Mowbray where it gained Wreake Valley livery.

(47) FBC1C was an ex demonstrator (hence the fancy livery) Van Hool T815 registered F547TJF that was aquired in 1989. It spent about four years with the company allocated at the Fairtax-Foxhound base in Melton Mowbray.

(252) 972SYD is another ex Blands coach and is a Scania with Jonckheere bodywork. It was originally registered E701NNH and only spent a couple of years in the Fox fleet working out of the Fairtax base at Melton.

(252) A front end view of SYD !.

(260) F880 ONR was a particularly unusual vehicle in the Midland Fox fleet being a rare Mercedes powered Taz Dubrava acquired with the business of Bland, Stamford. It is seen here in Southwick, East Sussex somewhat ironically in the same road that the photographer started his newspaper round many years previously.

(337) VSC337V Presumably Midland Fox wanted to play down their ownership of this, a rather nice Bedford VAS with Duple Dominant bodywork that was aquired from Area Rural Travel of Markfield in 1991. Seen here at Melton Mowbray in Fairtax livery it is only claiming to be either 'Area Rural Travel' or 'Independant Transport'.

(7007) EUT11T is a Ford R1114 coach that was aquired with the buisness of N & S of Market Harborough in 1983. Ford vehicles were never very numerous in any major fleet but Midland Fox kept several and even brought some additional second hand examples at Market Harborough where it is still seen, in Foxhound livery, in May 1989. All the coaches based here carried girls names which in this case is Maralyn.

(7015) PAV787X is a Ford R1114 with Plaxton bodywork that came with the Blands buisness but did not stop long !.

(7050) C50VJU Is an MCW Metroliner and is seen here when fairly new in August 1986 awaiting to depart from Leicester on route 430 to London.

(7051) C51VJU was another one of the Five Metroliners aquired for National Express duties in 1986 and is seen in the later livery with more stripes added. They were never entirely trouble free and only four of the five actually survived the full seven years on the route.

(7054) C54VJU is another of the Metroliners that spent all of their lives mostly pounding up and down the M1 (or on the Pits) though they did come in handy for the X89 to Skegness on summer saturdays in the first few years of their lives.

(7138) C138YJT Was an extra Metroliner that was aquired in 1991 from London Country South West who had used it for a short time on Greenline work though it originated with Shamrock & Rambler. It was slightly different to the Midland Fox examples in that it had Dual Doors/Staircases and seated 70 instead of 79. Seen here in Leicester in November 1992 it looks like it might have had a trip on the X66 to Birmingham which although rare the use of the type on this route was not unheard of. *C136YJT was also aquired but was never used and spent many years dumped at Wigston being used as a source of spares.
