No.91 was the only bus go gain the First Leicester livery with a solid Yellow band instead of the fading effect.
152 was the last Dennis Dominator delivered new to Leicester and for nearly ten years was the newest "decker" in the fleet. During 1998 it spent a period on loan to sister company First Northampton. Seven of this final batch of 13 were sold to Capital Citybus in 1996 and currently reside in the Hackney area of north London.
Volvo B6 423 is one of several that started life with Capital citybus in East London in 1999 and is one of a pair with "Lucky" chinese registrations.
Volvo B6 427 is the sole vehicle with "Purple Route 61" branding though several more vehicles are required on the route each day to get the residents of Birstall into the City !.
Smart Alexander bodied Volvo B6 429 is one of two vehicles with Branding for the "Orange Line". It came to Leicester from First Eastern Counties.
The other "Orange Line" bus is Northern Counties bodied Volvo 431 which Started life working for Capital Citybus in the North East of London (the Registration number L888JTC has a bit of a story behind it.... At the time the bus was purchased Capital Citybus was owned by a Chinese company and 888 is considered a very lucky number in Chinese history so a number of buses were delivered with 888 numbers followed by three initals of a company director) and came to Leicester in 1999 (though the batch was Hi-Jacked en-route by Northampton to work a Park & Ride scheme in Milton Keynes for a couple of months). This was one of the First buses in the new livery.
431 is seen in 2001 having lost the Route branding which was a bit of a flop in Leicester.
No.432 is a bit of a one off in recieving the First Leicester livery without any Yellow bits !. And is one of three that started life at Gatwick Airport.
No.503 was one of the three Mercedes buses to recieve the Green/Yellow/White livery and is currently the only bus (sept 2001) to recieve Turquoise Line "74/74A" branding.
Big Merc 509 is another to have recieved the smart but short lived Green/White/Yellow livery and is seen here on a sunny day on one of it's usual haunts, the 74.
732 is one of three Mercedes minibuses aquired from First Capital during 2000. Strangely enough they came from Hackney Wick depot which is where the ex Leicester Dominators are based !
Tranny-Trainer 912 came up to Leicester from Southern National and can often be seen around town on Training and Crew Ferrying duties.
