Lisa Kudrow
Lisa Kudrow plays Phoebe Buffay on Friends
At 14 Phoebe's adopted mother killed herself, resulting her having to live on the street. She eventually finds her real mother, but not her farther. She has a twin sister Ursula who she does not get on with and tries to stay away from. Although coming accross as not very smart, she is possesed with an 'Sixth sense'. Late in the series she finds she has a brother and goes through
the ardeous process of bonding with him. When she was younger she married a guy to help his career. Her main hobbies include her 'MUSIC' and decorating her shoes. She decides to have a baby for her brother as his otherhalf is unable to 'carry'. For a while she worked at a Massage Institute, but was fired when she was caught kissing a client. Throughout the series Phoebe has several relationships and generally comes accross as an airy 'Flower power' type dating back to 60's.
She would ' probably ' get on well with Joey (hint). But overall is a dependable 'Friend' who you cant help but like.
Lisa Kudrow was born on July 30, 1963 in Encino, California and raised in Tarzana. She is the daughter of headache specialist. Kudrow expected to follow in her father's footsteps when she graduated from Vassar College in New York State with a B.S. in biology and returned to California to work with him.
However, Kudrow's career in research was cut short when a friend of her brother suggested that she audition for the comedy troupe, The Groundlings. Kudrow was not accepted, a well-known comedy teacher helped her out. She was succesful in 1989. During that time, she entered a romance which evolved into a friendship with Conan O'Brien.
She suffered a few disappointments before winning the role of Phoebe Buffay. Kudrow was originally cast as radio producer, Roz Doyle, on Frasier, but was replaced by Pery Gilpin before the pilot episode was filmed. She also had high hopes that her recurring role as waitress Ursula on Mad About You would develope into a regular .
The next pilot was Friends. The character of Phoebe was never written as a twin, but the producers of Friends found this as an opportunity to do a little crossover with Phoebe and Ursula. This can be seen in The One With The Two Parts - Part One And Two.
Kudrow earned an Emmy nomination as Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy for her work during the show's debut season.
Other highlites include hosting the VH1 Honors Awards, a high profile milk print ad, both with Jennifer Aniston (Rachel), and the Friends infamous Diet Coke campaign.
Kudrow is enjoying life with her French husband, Michael Stern and her baby son, Julian Murray.
