7.15 Moved off at first light.

8.15 Moored up at Winton marina. tidied up, lit fire and had breakfast while waiting for the chandlery to open at 9.00

8.45 First boat down lock with massive waterfall effect!!. As nothing in sight we then went up lock and moored in the full lock to replace calor gas and the Collie hat for chimney from the adjacent Marina Shop.

11.15 Out of the top lock, flight not too busy, boats around but no queue.

12.15 At the bottom of Watford, no traffic waiting so straight in and up.

1.15 Moored at top for water and, with keepers OK, lunch.

2.15 Moved on just as a boat came up for water.

3.15 Moored to clean boat.

3.45 Carried on.

5.30 Winded just after B 28, listed as a full winding hole but would not take anything over 65 ft. Moored to stock up fire and to wrap up against the cold dark damp air.

5.45 Off into the dusk with drifting smoke adding to the atmosphere literally. Virtually no other boats around. The air crisp and sharp and soon lit by a full moon on its own. The only life seen was a flight of ducks I scarred up off the canal.

7.00 Moored up just after Bridge 19 as clouds had now hidden the moon and trees overshadowed the canal.
