Monday 19th August. Time - 4.5 hours Locks 5 Miles 14
7.15 a.m. Moved off. Dry though overcast and it has been raining overnight.
8.30 a.m. Moored on lock moorings of Sanford lock to clear up while waiting for the keeper to come on duty.
9.00 a.m. Went up the lock. As we left the lock it started to rain heavily. Above Iffley lock an empty Salter Brothers Trip Boat was arriving to come down. Still raining as we passed Christ Church Meadows so abandoned plan for family to walk into Oxford over the meadows. However as we left Osney Lock the rain stopped.
10.30 a.m. Moored up by Osney Bridge. For the family to visit Oxford and to get in some shopping.

3.30 p.m. Went on up the Thames in the sunshine again after raining on and off while we were in Oxford. Decided to stay on the Thames for the night so passed by the entrance to Isis lock and then Duke's cut.
5.15 p.m. Moored by the field below Eynsham lock for the night after winding in the entrance to the weir.
