Friday 16th August. Time - 8 hours Locks 8 Miles 24

7.00 a.m. Moved off. Watered at Shifford lock, then worked the lock myself as only 7.45 a.m. and no one about.

9.15 a.m. Moored for a general sort out on a straight stretch of the river.

10.30 a.m. Moved on again. Entry into Pinkhill lock blocked when a Labrador on the boat in front fell into the River as they entered the lock!!

12.45 p.m. Moored below Eynesham lock, first for a pump-out, and then after picking windfall damsons to cook and eat our lunch in the shade,

3.15 p.m. Moved on again.

5.00 p.m. Passed the branch to Isis lock to we went on down the river.

5.30 p.m. At Christ Church Meadows passed, Dudley Thomas, a Dutch Hotel barge moored up for the night.

Iffley lock, large and mechanised. All the lock mooring bollards occupied by ducks!!

6.45 p.m. Moored for the night about half a mile below Sandford lock moored on an overgrown bank at an angle, getting the ropes ashore by gang plank.
