August 2002
On the canal with the Reed Family.

( An illustrated account of that holiday. )

Wednesday 14th August. Time - 7.25hours Locks 6 Miles 21

9.15 a.m. Moved off upstream after a cooked breakfast.

The river was now windy and narrow, also well defended by World War II pillboxes. (Which David referred to as 'pulpits'.) One with no mooring notices on it, seemed to make the 'no stopping point' a bit forcibly! .

1.45 p.m. Moored at the Trout, Tadpole bridge for a very nice meal and drink.

3.00 p.m. Carried on up the river. Shared Grafton Lock with a very nervous huge fibreglass boat.

5.45 p.m. Moored just above Kelmscot by a field for the night.

Go on to the next day.
