( An illustrated account of that holiday. )
Tuesday 13th August. Time - 4.25 hours Locks 5 Miles 8.5
6.45
a.m. Moved off, worked first lift bridge by wedging it with a barge pool.
Then Angela hearing of this came out for the next one!
8.15 a.m. Moored up just before Isis Lock, where we had stopped two years before. Breakfast and a clean up, then family explored Oxford while I shopped.
2.30 p.m. Moved off to Isis Lock then waited while Balliol and a college Cruiser both went down to wind.
And then headed up the Thames towards Lechlade.
Bought a 15 day Thames licence at Godstow Lock.

On the bends afterwards passed working motor Aber, quite impressive.
Watered at Eynesham lock, very quick, just a few minutes.
5.15 p.m. Moored just upstream of Swinford bridge. On a farmers official moorings, (£3.50 for the night), and soon collected not only swans, but also 2 shire horses.
