6.45 Moved off down the locks single handed all very quiet. Boat moored in short pound between locks 46 and 47 otherwise clear. Had problems with gates swinging shut and open. At lock 46 had to use Cropredy to wedge it open to get out!! Life appeared around 8.00 with walkers, cyclists and BWB in a van with a mower. Took an average of 15 minutes a lock totally single handed, no other traffic and only one lock set in my favour.
9.00 Moored up at Water Point for tidy up and breakfast.
9.30 On down to Stratford. Other boats around now and the family lock working while Angela steered.

11.15 Moored in Bancroft Basin at first on the East side after winding, then
went another boat moved out on the West side as this felt less open to the road
and we could have the hatch open to the basin.
The family proceeded to explore Stratford but apart from two quick shopping
expeditions I fiddled about on the boat, cooked lunch, polished the brasses,
talked to the tourists, one wanted to know if we were a trip boat, another wanted
to know if they still built canal boats in this country! Generally I just watched
life on the basin.
5.15 Decided
not to stay in the basin overnight as the dog could not really get off the boat!
So returned up the Stratford locks.
7.00 Moored for the night just below the Wilmcote locks. Noisy as the by-pass just a few hundred yards away, but otherwise a lovely quiet mooring.
Miles 5 Locks 18 Time 5.75 hours.
