Sunday August 19th.

7.15 Continued on up the Coventry. Torrential downpour during the night but no rain now just a mist with the sun trying to break though. As I was getting ready to move an early boat passed us then straight away came back after winding. We passed Streethay Wharf, quite a large concern but well set out looked more 'canaly' than many of the marinas.

8.45 Moored up outside the Swan at Fradley Junction to fill with water, tidy the boat and explore the junction. Not too crowded but still a constant flow of boat movements.

9.45 Set back off down the Coventry to return to Fazley, Angela steered as I cooked drunken pork Chops and jam roly polly for Sunday lunch.

12.15 Moored up near Tamhorn Farm bridge for a slow quiet lunch in the sun.

3.30 Moved on after lunch, at first in the dry then in torrential rain till Fazley Junction. Dry while Angela and David worked Glascote Locks, then as we set off again a torrential shower. Passed Motor Jackal and butty Hereford on the move. As we passed a marina a contrast as lots of canaltime boats scattered about and Motor Kangaroo and butty Australia moored up in the midst of them.

7.00 Moored up opposite Alvecotte Priory, but the trees have grown too thick to see it from the canal now. Just after we moored up the sound of a traditional engine heralded the arrival of Kangaroo and Australia to pass us heading West.
