7.15 Left moorings and travelled down the Grand Union, very quiet only one other boat on the move. Caught two fishermen by surprise as they were dozing in their tents till the boat set off the alarms on their rods, but grins all around. Stopped for a couple of minutes at Blue Lias to collect a blanket from the car

8.15 Stopped top of Stockton locks to tidy up bedding.

8.30 Went down Stockton 11 locks, in 1.5 hours, with Angela steering, only passed one boat and that near the top.

10.00 Moored at Blue Lias pub water point for water and a break as rain started. Moored by Laplander but did not realise until we were moving past on our way down.

10.30 Continued, at first in full wet gear, but the rain stopped almost as soon as we started! At Bascotte Staircase I worked it on my own, but as we left a dispute over use just starting.

1.00 Moored by B 31 for lunch

2.30 On down the Grand Union, Carys now taking a chance to steer.

6.00 Moored at Coventry Road 48 hour moorings by B 49 opposite Kate Boats for a quiet night. Uncertain about mooring earlier as in the town.
