8.00 Started off chilly but fine weather. Good easy moorings all along this area.
9.00 Moored up
for breakfast and tidy up just after passing through Polesworth and before the
railway bridge.
9.45 Carried on after first removing a stowaway of a baby frog from the front cabin. At Grandor Bridge extensive new wharf being built. Kangaroo and Australia moored up alongside it. Straight up Atherstone Locks, a number of other boats about, quite a few of whom did not seem to know what they were doing! This made it very slow.
1.15 Stopped at top of Atherstone Locks for water, then moved over to the visitor mooring for the family to explore the town and for me to get in food shopping, various specialist shops and also a Somerfields and a Co-op.
3.45 Continued on along the Coventry passing a huge new marina being built between bridges 35 and 34.
4.30 Moored up for the night just after Bridge 34 in a lovely peaceful spot.
Polished the brasses then cooked dinner. At 7.00 ish we were eating our dinner
in style on the rear deck when again to the swelling sound of traditional engine
Kangaroo and Australia emerged from the bridge hole and swept slowly past us.
