Did not set off until 1.30 p.m. after a very quiet night as still exploring Oxford. Managed to wind in the hole just before Isis lock it is exactly 50ft and a couple of inches!! We are 50 ft long!! Lift Bridge B239 has met its end, care of the huge new housing development on the West bank. I suspect B 238A will soon also be replaced by a new high level brick one, but for now it is operated by the workmen.
We moored up at 5.30 p.m. just below Shipton Weir Lock, the first bit of real quiet country after Oxford. Four boats passed us afterwardsOne moored up on the lock moorings to avoid a sudden heavy shower, and then stayed there for the night!
A second was towing a new engineless boat, both squeezed into the lock in a V shape as combined they were too long.
