Sunday August 13th.

Image Loading...Started at 6.45 a.m.. Soon going up the Napton locks, at first on our own then increasingly with other boats. We stopped at Top Lock, L16 to fill up with water have breakfast and to tidy up from 9.30 till 10.10. We then continued on down a fairly quiet canal finally mooring up at Fenny Compton for lunch at B 136, near, but not in the pub, from 12.45 to 1.30.

When we moved on at 1.30 the canal was now very busy with long delays at the locks, taking nearly an hour for the three boats in front of us to start down the Claydon locks. At B148 passed new signs of life, a new wharf canopy and two newly rebuilt working boats just below the bridge. We finally stopped for the night on the 48 hour moorings to the North of Croperly Locks, between B150 and B152, very crowded further on, probably from the festival. Image Loading...
