
Student Support and Facilities:
Airport Meeting services:
Overseas Students arriving in U.K for the first time may wish to be met by a college representative at the airport. Students wishing to be collected from the airport must inform the college at least four weeks before the date of arrival, which should include name of Airline, flight number, arrival airport and date of arrival. From the airport students are brought to college (in the weekends they are taken directly to their lodging). A fee of £60 is charged for this service.
English Language Support:
Students on full time courses, whose English proficiency requires augmenting, are encouraged to attend English Language classes free of charge at the college.
Students Library:
The college library stocks all recommended books. In addition, the library subscribes to important magazines and journals, which are of interest to the students to students in different disciplines. The library operates a system of lending. Student may become a member of the library, which entitles them to borrow books to study at home.
Accommodation:
The East End is one of the cheaper areas to live in London with rents comparable to many other cities in the UK. Our Student Office can on request, arrange accommodation for students. Those requiring accommodation to be arranged by us must return a completed Accommodation Request Form along with a deposit of £400.00, which will be adjusted against rents. However, accommodation is arranged on the basis of availability. For further information and details of the costs of accommodation, students should contact our Students Office.
Social Life:
To encourage students to make most of their leisure time in U.K. social and cultural activities are arranged throughout the year. We also organise educational trips to important places and institutions such as the Bank of England, Stock Exchange, British Museum, Houses of Parliament, Art Galleries etc. and excursions to important cities and towns in U.K. and Europe.
Sport and Recreation:
The recently opened Whitechapel Sports Centre is one of the most modern and well- equipped sports facilities in the UK and is situated very close to our institution. The centre boasts all modern sporting facilities including a state-of-the art gymnasium. Students preferring a little bit of tranquility can visit the Victoria Park, one of the largest and most beautiful parks in London which is situated within walking distance of LSBA.
