Course Entry and Admissions Policy:

How to apply

In order to assess ability and potential, we ask that you complete a portfolio:

Selection of students

When an applicant file is complete, it is assessed by the Director of Admissions and is recommended to the academic board. A complete file is processed within two weeks and the applicant is notified of his or her status within three weeks.


General Admission requirements

The general requirement is the minimum qualification you must have to join the University.

Diploma & Certificate (business and computer science)

You do not need to meet the general requirement. Information on course requirements is given in the course descriptions.

BA/BSc (Hon’s)

Minimum 5 GCSE subjects plus 2 GCE A level or 12 years of high school study. In special case O level or equivalent will be considered in absence of any of the above successful completion of any access course may deem sufficient

MBA

MSc (Computer Science)


ADMISSION PROCEDURES

Application:

Read the prospectus carefully before completing the application form. State clearly on the form all the information asked for. Write clearly using capital letters. The completed application form must be sent to our Admissions Office along with the following:

All documents in languages other than English must be accompanied by official translations. An application form sent without these will not be processed.

After processing the application, students will be sent the Letter of Acceptance which will state that the LSBA is willing to offer a place on the course subject to payment of the tuition fee in full or in instalments and the conditions. For the convenience of overseas students, the letter will provide an estimate of the living costs per year in London so that release of foreign exchange may be processed, as appropriate.

Letter of Acceptance:

After processing the application, students will be sent the Letter of Acceptance which will state that the institute is willing to offer a place on the course subject to payment of the tuition fee in full or in installment and the conditions. For the convenience of the overseas students, the letter will provide an estimate of the cost per year so that release of foreign exchange may be processed, as appropriate.

Letter of Enrolment:

Upon receipt of the full tuition fee or first installment of the fee, LSBA will issue the Letter of Enrolment to overseas students stating that a place has been reserved for him on the course. Students already in UK. Will be issued Letter of Enrolment only after the payment of the tuition fee.

The overseas students to obtain visa may use the Letter of Enrolment.

Visa Application for the Overseas Students

Students should apply to their local British Embassy/ High Commission overseas for a student visa to come to the UK. Applicants should take the following documentation with them to the interview.

* Letter of Acceptance from LSBA

* passport

* proof of all academic qualifications

* documents to prove that you will be able to finance your studies and cost of living in the UK. For example, bank statements or letter from the sponsor etc.

* (in some cases) documents to confirm that the student has accommodation available in the U.K.

Students facing any difficulties with their application for visa should contact the LSBA Admissions Office for advice and further guidance.


Admission rules and policy

The general admission requirement is the minimum qualification necessary for admission to a given course. All students must therefore check that they satisfy the general admission requirements for the course they are applying for. The general admission requirements for the individual courses are given below.

LLB Honours (external) University of London

The University of London admission requirements for external students are three O` Levels at Grade C or above and two A` Levels at grade E or above.

Diploma in Business / Diploma in Computer Science

Minimum 5 GCSE passes at grade A-C or equivalent overseas qualification.

BBA/BSc Honours

Minimum 5 GCSE subjects plus 2 GCE A level or equivalent overseas qualification. Successful completion of a LSBA Diploma in Business Administration/Diploma in Computer Science may also be may deemed sufficient.

MBA

Minimum requirement is first degree or equivalent overseas qualifications.

Professional qualifications e.g. ACCA, CIMA, CIM etc.

Mature students, with relevant work experience will be given special consideration.

MSc

BSc in computer science

Any other bachelor degree with sufficient credits in information technology.

IMIS Graduate Diploma

Mature students, with relevant work experience will be given special consideration.

MPhil/PhD

Minimum requirement is a good second class Honours degree or equivalent overseas qualification.


Admission rules and policy

No student will be admitted to any course unless the Director of Admissions is satisfied that the student’s previous education or qualifications will enable him or her to benefit from the proposed course of study

  1. The registration fee is non refundable unless LSBA is not able to run the programme
  2. Fees must be paid in full before the commencement of studies, unless an instalment programme has been agreed
  3. In the event of a student being dismissed by the institution, fees will not be refunded
  4. The institution reserves the right, to place a student who arrives late for his course without reasonable excuse, onto a programme commencing at a future date
  5. If the official admission form is signed on behalf of the student by his/her sponsor guardian, these condition remain binding to both parties
  6. The institution reserves the right, at any time to make whatever changes may be deemed necessary to admission requirements, fees, charges, tuition, policies, regulations and academic programme prior to and after the start of any course.
