The Cue Timer allows you to store an estimate of the time a cue should remain on stage before a manually initiated change (e.g. a crossfade) is required.
The cue timer does not cause a fade to be automatically initiated after the timer interval, but rather provides the operator a warning that an on-stage cue (e.g. a line of dialogue or action) requiring such a change is likely to occur soon.
Very useful for those productions with lots of time between cues in which to read a book or plan your next production!
