Often, there is only a limited mains supply capacity. The current monitor calculates and shows the current consumed by groups of lighting dimmers, termed
'Circuits'
, and implements a choice of mechanisms to avoid over-current conditions.
The Patch Editor enables you to set the
Circuit
and Current for any dimmer. Currents may be specified to a resolution of 0.1Amp and there is no limit on the number of circuits you can create.
PCStage calculates the current being drawn on each circuit and shows it as a percentage of the circuit limit.
The monitor panel (above) shows for each circuit defined:
The action taken upon detecting an overload can be altered:
Turn Off Channels
is analogous to tripping a breaker, and disables the offending circuit’s channels until their level is reduces and the breaker is reset in the Current Monitor tool;
Reduce Channels
proportionally reduces the levels of the circuit’s channels. This is done dynamically, and does not change the channel’s slider levels;
Reduce Master
reduces the Master Level slider. This is not dynamic i.e. it affects the slider in the main window, and reducing the channel levels does not increase the master again.
