001: "Hot Shots II" received great critical acclaim and the band's UK tours have sold
out. Radiohead are still singing their praises after two US tours with them. Despite many
people cancelling their American tours after after September 11th, The Beta Band were determined to go back and play for the many friends that
they had made - so they did. They received a heroes welcome deservedly for both their ace
show and attitude. They will tour in the UK in January and release a single. For the first time in the UK this Summer, it was also possible to see The Beta Band move! A Channel 4 documentary - "Fiesta De Los Beta Bandidos". - shown earlier in the year will possibly be
repeated, and the band performed on BBC2's Later - highly prestigeous music show for
people who can change chord without looking down. They had previously only been pictures
and words in magazines and on record sleeves, to the eyes, unless you saw them in the
flesh!

| May 001 : The Beta Band are more than pleased with their
new album Hot Shots II - this is a seriously good album if "Squares"
is anything to go by. They will choose a first single for July 2nd
release in the UK. As one of the most influential acts of the time it's only fitting that
they tour with one of the others, Radiohead, across USA in June and
August where both already enjoy a seriously huge potential vibe. The Beta Band play
three dates in Ireland in June, then Hot Shots II is released on 16
July on Regal Recordings in the UK before a UK tour culminating
at Brixton Fridge in July (which sold out before the information had even reached the

tour, making new friends all around the world. then rehearsed for the london astoria gig
in january, which was wicked. we got a little crazy enjoying the show, can't wait for
more. always a unique and funky experience... |
