In a part of the unfashionable part of the galaxy that is still MOSTLY HARMLESS is Planet Water. A group of tiny islands, The Rock N Roll Isles, peopled with eccentrics and woodland folk is drenched in music. The capital city of England, Punk City, especially so as the music industry is based there. In the south east of Punk City, just across the river from Docklands, lies Rocklands (click here for more info). A place with many creatives, venues, musicians, road crews, music fans, students, communities, party people etc - untrendy as hell and all the better for it. Lively at night, it seems like the perfect place for the House Of Rock and mates to gather for 'a bit of a do'...
Share The Joy
(pic, The Gig at Rocklands)
the friends gathered in the brightly lit red building on the corner to laugh and dance...love peace music and rock'n'roll! Share The Joy is a social gathering of music fanatics. A late bar with cheap booze at pub prices, entertainment and a great atmosphere which is guaranteed due to experience from previous such gatherings.

The night is inspired by parties and events that The House Of Rock posse have been putting on for a couple of years. Party people that live and love music.

This free form event will hopefully be monthly in 2002.

The punk-hippy vibe at previous parties meant giving away drinks'n'food to people with smiles on their faces. That's good at squats, but we now have a great permanent place for these events. Two minutes walk from Goldsmiths College, with an excellent venue/stage, webcam facilities etc.

Instead of giving away food and drinks there will be goody bags of pop fan collectibles like stickers, badges, postcards etc (so far record labels, bands and  managers have donated stickers, autographed pix and even sew-on patches) for folks that would like to help themselves. Bring a plastic bag if you'd like extra freebies...

In the future; guest poets, comediens and performance artists are welcome to do their thing. We wonder if we can show videos/short films/animations etc on the screens too. Co-promote with alternative media that support the thriving UK new bands scene, whatever...

Basically the club is an excuse for a piss up in as near to a brewery as possibility. A friendship and creativity melting pot. As un-"cool" as possible so that people coming by themselves will feel at ease.

Share The Joy isnt so much about bandying names about and being trendy, as an old fashioned rock'n'roll party put on by a load of happy hicks from the sticks who have moved to London to live the rock n roll life. We love it here!

Share The Joy music policy? Good music! Party choons! Rock, Reggae, Dance, Punk, Disco, Ska, Hip Hop, old skool/nu skool... whatever!. Guest DJs are always welcome and we on the look out for further acts that are entertaining for the future.
