The Land Of Song, Irie Land, The Big Country & Bling Bling Blighty...respect comes to rocklands

Whether you are on the wavelength of Planet Earth or Planet Water, come together in Summer, declare peace and unity, reclaim our identity as the world’s most diverse and equal city at Europe’s biggest anti-racist, multi-cultural gathering... Sat-19/07/003 respect

3 is the magic number and in 003, the third respect festival will be held in Rocklands at The Peace Dome in Greenwich Village (a.k.a. Earth’s Millennium Do Me). As usual, it’s free and will be a giant burst of love, peace and music in the world. The bill will be announced in Spring and apart from live music and partying there will be a photo competition, children's play area, cabaret, displays, info stands, and a week of events (arts, sports, film festival, exhibitions, poetry slam and more) prior to the event.

just as global calls and support for unity, charity, sharing and caring have only ever increased, (evolution), so respect festival gets bigger every year. this year, at least 100,000 people will gather to party like 1999 was last century.

Organised by Red Ken, mayor of Punk City, the event was launched last night at the GLA’s giant riverside blob. The views are stunning and what makes the city all the more wonderful is that weapons are still vile to the majority and rare in a country where you can buy your meat ready hunted and that the warm hearted, charitable, eccentric spirit of these isles leads the world in 21st century vision.

Racists are knuckle dragging morons (that, ironically come in all races!) and have no place in a culture heavily inspired by the positivity and creativity of the music world.

This year’s respect is dedicated to the memory of Stephen Lawrence, who was murdered in the borough of Greenwich (Eltham) ten years ago. It was dealt with like some old age red-neck farce of a conspiracy in favour of some dangerous, inhuman arsewipes. This summer the borough is being reclaimed by the every day people of the UK who (mostly) choose to live in peace. Stephen’s mum Doreen said "I hope that dedicating this year’s respect festival to the memory of my son and it taking place here in the borough where he was killed will encourage more Londoners to stand up and actively challenge racism".

Rocklands has always thought that the dome should be The Peace Dome (a place of music and sporting events for a music and sporting nation) and once offered to buy it for £100 to do that. Of course there was no reply but it was worth a shot!

The Tourist Board itself was established on New Year’s Day because the wavelength of LaLaLand truly exists - respect 003, like the recent anti-war stance of the human family, was already on the Planet Water Calendar as one of the year’s essential moments. The festival itself will be preceded by a week of respect events and aims to grow bigger and stronger every year.

Last year there was a 20% increase in racist attacks and there are now 5 bnp-brains holding seats in England. Yeuch! This country isn’t really on the vibe of psychopaths and other monsters though. In a recent poll, 85% of people asked said that one of their favourite things about London was it’s diversity. I know my friends from abroad feel like they are in some kind of future heaven where everybody is equal when they come over to rock and roll.

Love and Peace. That’s just how it should be in a country that is home to a world wide melting pot of dancing, partying, festivals, entertainment, fetes, wizards and witches, music cults, cabaret, a spectrum of fashion, the Monster Raving Loony Party, poetry, parades alternative culture, lunar-tics, theatre, carnival, Jedi Knights, the human family and popular music obsession. What a mix! Arts Not Arms - all you need is love.

So then, July 003, come to Rocklands. One Love, One Heart, Let’s Get Together And Feel Alright...

at last we can see inside the local giant hub cap...North Greenwich tube on the grey line (Jubilee) is your best transport to the party.

Every time I ride the DLR from Deptford Bridge The Do Me looms into view, this news will definitely add a zing to the journey.

(Hey, maybe we're not so nuts and this year, in the age of aquarius is an inkling of the potential of the Planet Water vibe).
