Board update
Rocklands Tourist Board main pagemagical things still happen in this area of
naval history alongside the longest river in Bling Bling Blighty. It
didn't always (slavery etc) but that was then and this is now.. Besides it's also a place
of multi culture's birth (abolition etc) and drenched
in global and alternative culture.
"You can't kill the spirit". they
still say (and believe) round here.
Rocklands is the perfect place for an alternative tourist board from
the parallel dimension of Planet Water. It's a non-profit anti business that begun on New
Year's Day 003 (the magic number). (pic: Sanford Mural is
one of the local land marks - on Planet Earth war & money win,
on Planet Water, peace and nature win...)
02-003: kicked off on New Year's Day. Started collating
local music contacts for Lewisham Mercury newspaper. Corporation:Blend
played London Metro (got some profile, new fans, industry interest and a fab gig
offer for the following week at The Basement Club (presented by Gordon
Raphael of Strokes album fame and Toby L of Rockfeedback). The show led to new
fans/industry interest and an offer to return and headline. After three weeks of
existence, some kind musicians have offered a bit of financial assistance which will
promote project further. Rocklands Tourist Board
is in association with Ian at Grassroots Xchange (music support
initiative) and Ceri at Subsonique
(Rocklands based live promotor responsible for gigs and the Pepys
Festival). Cyberpunk Non Profit Disorganisation

01-003: On
new year's day Rocklands Tourist Board began on two
different worlds. More of an Escapism Board really...
002: Rocklands Tourist Board ended 002 with a write up in the Lewisham Mercury newspaper and a quick interview on Goldsmiths College radio. Assisted with promoting King Adora and Ten Benson tours and teamed up
with Ian at Grassroots Xchange (music support
initiative) and Ceri at Subsonique (Rocklands based
live promotor responsible for gigs and the Pepys Festival). Local
resources centre, Magpie, had put Rocklands
in touch with Ceri, and Greenwich's Mean-Time
Radio. Local MP Joan Ruddock also put us
in touch with Deptford X, the annual event that turns the
area into a big gallery of galleries. |
