pic, danny fury, metro riots @ pop of the tops, new cross by mcnaughty Peel Street - a cyber circuit Places for Alternative Idols to tour named in honour of new music's most legendary supporter. What do you want? Bands : promoters that promote, good sound on and off stage, be treated with respect, a rider or free guests or door split at least, expenses covered where posible, its an investment in the alternative industry. Audience : entertainment + friendly atmosphere, information. affordability, good sound, public transport. venues : good reputation for the quality of new band nights, promotional network support for the bands i.e. local fanzines/websites, pop page in the local paper, radio, student media, places to leave flyers and posters, network of music fans (possibly a photographer or two) promoters - pro-active and ambitous bands with a great live show are a party l combination of fun and atmosphere when teamed up with a promoter that also is pro-active and creative beyond just making a minimum amount of cash from the followers that each band brings to a show, and intends to get as many people there themselves as possible too.

Clwb Ifor Bach, Cardiff - it doesn't just rock, it boulders (rec by C:B) bit of a closed shop to get to play, but just love the vibe* The Blue Cat in Stockport - it's a venue, a label, they make films and they care. * Purr Club at Bath Moles Promoters make sure that bands get paid. Vibe is excellent. Chatham Tap N Tin was recommended by Art Brut * 100 Bullets Back recommended the Wheatsheaf in Oxford and put on a hot Pop Of The Tops night there. * Bannermans in Edinburgh. Great place and they do piles of food affordably! The Well, Luton, Shooting Sun have started a rock n roll community that is growing stealthily. Manor Ballroom in Ipswich. The best promoters are Music Is My Lover. Auntie Annie's in Belfast and The Limelight. Recommended by Dirty Stevie. . The usual laid back and very friendly vibe of all these venues plus cheap and huge meals without the bands having to wander the streets. Also recommended is Retro Bar in Manchester, Zodiac in Brighton, Blackwood Miners, Prince Albert in Brighton, Voodoo Lounge in Sunderland, Norwich Arts Centre, TJs in Newport - Being looked into for links, involvement more info...
