Music Tourist Board is a non-profit disorganisation for/by and of music. It is made up of anybody that wants to get involved or who has helped so far and progresses largely through live music events. Simplicity is key. Progress Update...

Music is an invisible, ignored and unappreaciated tourism - small/medium venues, necessary to the development of future talent are systematically being closed down. Music Tourist Board would like to highlight the delight of a small venue night out.

The penniless revolution is on, for at the same time, bands and their friends are starting up alternative rock clubs galore. . There is a thriving n driving DIY anti-scene on the rise not dependent on having the right hair / clothes / contacts / name etc - but on being able to entertain and thereby win music fans.

It makes sense to direct friends looking for the flavour of rock'n'roll's united kingdom to check out the hottest new bands via the cyber-circuit (i.e. band & gig crazy websites/promoters) that is this trail. In the tour bus on the way to Cardiff Barfly in Oct-004, we heard about John Peel. Peel Street. is in his honour. An alternative to rip-off britain, a sort of rock-on britain if you will.

The trail is being blazed, currently by an amazing amount of unique, fresh and exciting talent in addition to the right hair / name / clothes / contacts etc contingent in the establishment press. There's room for every kind of band, including Alternative Idols - incidentally the first event staged by Music Tourist Board weeks after this activity started with a load of music fans getting together in a small venue in Autumn 003 (who was there?). The results spread world wide within a year. Not on a grand, high profile, celebrity etc style, but organically...

Instead of a large amount of money, it has blossomed on a large amount of imagination. The bottom line though is an appreciation of the wealth to hand on small stages across the land and the creativity to further well deserved luck via the biggest ideas possible. If a band have above average talent, charisma, a great reputation, are capable of winning fans without hype, work hard, have ambition and are struggling but determined then they deserve to be given as much of a chance as we would sporting talent. It would be a shame to waste a potentially great band solely because of fashion. Music is something else.

In Oct-005 Artful was a month long celebration that also attracted more interest and the first funding. With a wealth more contacts and expertise, what will MTB do in 006?

Planet Water (born in 000 at the turn of the century) is a real plac. The world's first rock'n'roll republic (rock'n'roll as in a way of life, not any particular style of music) was born in year 003 (the magic number) as a gateway from Planet Earth (see The News) and Planet Water via cyberspace.. Ever since then, anything has been possible. All that was needed was faith and imagination.

Music Tourist Board is in contact with a huge wealth of the alternative idols that make going out so thrilling. If they have managed to gain the start of a following on the strength of their music and shows (self marketing) their pro-activity deserves additional and enthsaisatic support/exposure/promotion and to be paid for putting on a show and bringing people and reputation to the bar that is usually the core business of a small venue. We always try our best to achieve most or preferabbly all of this.

Research is done on the road with bands, or just hanging out with them - and having as much fun as possible in the process. Being otherworldly, and without precedent, this whole Music Tourist Board activity is only just beginning to make sense. Being based in Rocklands where you can't move for musicians, artists, space travellers and magic folks - it's coming along in leaps and bounds. It all makes total sense!

Or does it? Hic!

LaLaLa!

Song-n-dance cultured Irie Land, The Big Country, The Land Of Song, Shakalaka Isles and Bling Blighty... a collection of green, water blessed, eccentric islands at the edge of the big sea.

They groove to an urban beat. Their greatest ambassadors are arts not arms, sporting sport, charity, life long childhood and it's resultant creativity and positivity.

Home to quaint tradition, the monster raving loony party, Jedi Knights on the census, comedy terrorists, Hogwarts and a population that gave more votes for Pop Idol than the first general election of the 21st Century (oh and home to the planet's time zone...)

the rock'n'roll isles of LaLaLand, Planet Water.
