The Land Of Song (Wales), The Shakala Isles (Channel Islands), The Big Country (Scotland), Irie Land (Eire and Northern Ireland) and Bling Blighty (England) share eccentricity, a sense of humour, stunning natural beauty and an obsession with arts and sporting sports. On the edge of a giant sea and visited by the winds of the entire globe, they are a small set of islands and isles off a giant land mass (United States Of Europe). For such a tiny place, they've made a name for themselves. Music and daydreams have played a big part in that. There are some that say LaLaLand is just Cloud Cuckoo Land (an entirely different dimension altogether!) but there is definite proof that not only Planet Water (born in the Age of Aquarius at the turn of the century) but also the Rock'n'Roll Isles are very much a reality. Proof of LaLaLand. Greenham women. Charity. Sporting Sport. Monty Python. Red Nose Day. Arts Not Arms. High percentage of pop stars and "celebrities". Eccentric humour. Boy George. Monster Raving Loony Party. Shakespeare and theatrical history. Blessed with with rain for lush green. Live Aid/Band Aid. Gay Pride. Spectrum of humanity represented in the population. Free speech. Punky reggae party. Fetes, festivals, gymkhanas etc (i.e. temperate weather). Seaside towns. Tradition. Fish and chips (not "fries"), bangers and mash, international favourites. Not everybody bows down to the 51st State or any other dictatorships. Comedy Terrorists. Jedi on the census. | ||
