| Fast Boy? Liquid Lips? That'll be The Bluetones then... The Bluetones new single features Fast Boy on
the A'side and Liquid Lips on the A'Side and is released 21-04-003 on their own Superior Quality Recordings
(dist. by Vital). The band have been in the studio since last year. These two songs
are from the "fourth-coming" new Bluetones album
in May and are produced by the band and Gordon Mills at
Raezor studios, Wandsworth.
"Both songs are from the first
session recorded for the album in which weve taken a stripped down approach to the
songwriting process. Both both tracks, representative of the forthcoming album as a whole,
are incredibly different to anything from Science And Nature, in fact
"completely different to anything weve ever done before".
Last year saw yet another chart hit,
new songs previewed at live events and their highly praised greatest hits album. This year
there's the new releases and their biggest tour ever, it kicks off 16th March in
Colchester - two months and 50 shows later it arrives at London Astoria. It'll be
a real adventure, intimate venues, The Bluetones love
music so much they'll get as much of a buzz as the fans...The Blue Army
have remained as loyal as Smiths fans and The Bluetones don't
disappoint them. It'll be a party on the road with a new band playing mostly new songs.
"Were using this
tour as a new beginning hence were taking it back to the smaller venues, its
like were just starting out again"
In February the boys gave their fans
an early taster of the new album for free with a download of a track, I Love The City. They also invited fans to appear in the video for Fast Boy which has a cameo from legendary DJ Dave Lee Travis.
In keeping with the bands DIY ethic, the video has been co-written and
directed by Mark, the single and album artwork has been created by Scott.
The acclaim The Bluetones got when they first appeared on the scene was well justified,
they've more than lived up to it and continue to do so. Their story is a rock and roll
classic and their tunes and performances of them have inspired a proper career. There's
still no stopping our national pop treasure. As with every year since they've been an
essential part of the LaLaLand vibe, da boys are set to make their mark on 003. |
