Blue Sharks |
Swimmers working towards NTP level 10. This
level builds on the use of efficient stroke technique, correct turns,
etc. Swimmers at this level would be expected to cover between
800 and 1000 metres per hour. To gain access to the Hammerhead sharks group, swimmers must have achieved the standard of NTP level 10, and be able to cover 1000 metres per hour of swim training. |

Hammerhead Sharks |
Swimmers in this group will be improving skill
elements working towards NTP level 11. These levels encourage the
correct use of the pace clock, correct starts and turns on the four
competitive strokes and individual medley. Swimmers at this level
would be expected to be covering between 1000 and 1500 metres per hour. To gain access to the White Tip sharks group, swimmers must have achieved the standard of NTP level 11, and be capable of swimming 1500 metres per hour of swim training. |

White Tip Sharks |
Swimmers will be working towards the standard of NTP
level 12, and be able to cover between 1500 and 2000 metres per
hour. In conjunction with the skills awards, swimmers are able to
achieve speed awards. All swimmers will be working towards the
requirements of both the competitive awards. To gain access to the Black Tip sharks group, swimmers must have NTP level 12, and be capable of swimming 1800 metres per hour of swim training. |

Black Tip Sharks |
Swimmers will have achieved NTP level 12 and be able
to swim between 1800 and 2500 metres per hour. All swimmers
will be able to demonstrate the skills etc. that both levels of the
Pre-Competitive Award require. To gain access to the Tigers group, swimmers must have either a WASA qualifying time or be achieving 25km or their LTAD volumes, whichever is the lesser. Swimmers that do not want to commit to the LTAD volumes may access the Makos group in order to maintain fitness levels and continue to improve technique with some competitive experience. |

Makos Sharks |
This group will cater for swimmers who want to
maintain fitness levels with some competition, whilst continuing to
improve their technique and skills base. This group will have no
volume commitment and will allow for part time attendance (up to 3
sessions weekly) as well as the full 9 sessions available (5 evenings
and 4 mornings). To gain access to the Tigers group, swimmers must have either a WASA qualifying time, or be acheiving 25km or their LTAD volume, whichever is the lesser. |

Tiger Sharks | All swimmers aged 11 and over who consistently achieve
a BPV of 25km weekly and who should qualify for WASA Championships at
either Age Group, Youth, or Senior level. Swimmers aged 10 years
and under will have individual BPV targets set, based upon their levels
of biological maturity following the principles of long term athlete
development. To gain access to the White Sharks group, swimmers must have made a top 10 finish at the WASA Nationals, be ranked inside the top 10 longcourse immediately following the most recent WASA Nationals, consistently achieving BPV of 30km weekly or their LTAD volume based on biological maturity. |

White Sharks |
The top group of Holywell ASC. All swimmers will
consistently be achieving BPV of 30km weekly or their LTAD volumes,
whichever is the lesser. Swimmers should have reached an
individual WASA 'A' or 'B' final or top 10 longcourse ranking.
This group will cater for any individual who achieves the performance
criteria but who is unable to commit to the BPV required for the
Performance squad. To gain acces to the Performance squad, swimmers must achieve their current GB qualifying time +4%, alongside consistent achievement of the volumes listed on the LTAD volume chart |

Performance |
All swimmers must be within 4% of the current GB
qualifying time (age as for GB Nationals in August 2005) and achieving LTAD volumes with consistency. Swimmers
from any North Wales club may access this squad, but must remain
members of their home based club. No transfer will be
permitted. National / Regional squad members from other North
Wales clubs will be permitted access on a part time basis to help
achieve BPV targets as determined by their governing body. |

Masters & Performance
Masters

Performance Masters All swimmers accessing this group will have achieved a top 3 finish at the most recent ASFGB Masters championships. No BPV will be set due to the recovery based nature of Masters training programmes. Individual BPV's will be recommended for each swimmer. |
