The 'E' team were no match for the runaway division 3 leaders, Braintree 'C' who romped home to a comfortable 4-0 win on home soil win to keep their league title prospects very much alive.
On top boards, John Staplehurst and Steve Woodhall were unable to make in-roads against the Braintree opposition and were duly beaten by Paul Baker and David Moss, respectively.
Meanwhile, Chelmsford Team Captain, Trevor Adams lost out to Alexander Cater on Board 3 and Jack Thomson lost out to Adrian Billingsley on Board 4.
With two draws against Wethersfield and Clacton 'B', the Chelmsford 'E' team now sit at the foot of the 3rd division, with two games remaining.
