PLUTO

Pluto is a offline news and mail reader for RISC OS computers. It also functions as a text database, both for news and email messages, and also any other text files that you may want to store and index.

Pluto can be used with:

• The ANT internet suite as a replacement for the Marcel news and mail reader.
• The Voyager internet suite as a replacement for Posty and Newsagent.
• The Termite internet suite as a replacement for Offlite.
• With free or shareware news and mail fetchers such as Newshound, POPStar, POP, FreeSMTP. Also with "Dialup" which contains Newshound and POPStar or Hermes.

Pluto has been under continuous development since the first version way made available in August 1997. Many new features and improvements have been added as a result of experience and use and feedback and requests from users.

Pluto3

The policy of development with Pluto has been frequent free updates to include new features and improvements. However in February 2003 I decided to call the latest update "Pluto3" and make a small upgrade charge from previous versions. Free updates will now continue for Pluto3.

Users of the original Pluto can update to Pluto3 by sending me an update fee of £10.

Pluto3 includes:

• 26 bit and 32 bit RISC OS compatibility
• Improved address book with user definable sections
• External Boxes: store archives of messages outide Pluto, see click here for details

Pluto2 includes:

• Threaded display of messages
• Scoring of articles
• Saving "Draft" copies of messages that you're writing so you can resume later
• URL menu available of URLs, message-id etc in the text
• Futher improvements to be available as free updates

Trial Version

This is a full featured but time-limited version of Pluto, including speech and spellcheck. To avoid increasing the size of the mail Pluto trial download, the spellcheck data is available as a separate download.
