After February when not much seemed to be happening, March really got going. At the start of the month we were planting out trees and plants which had spent the last few months in pots.

The rubble from the demolition had started to form the base for the new permeable parking area in the front garden, but a long way to go at this point.
Mike Pepler came - with several chainsaws - to prune some of the trees and cut down a couple of dead or dying trees. These were also obstructing the area where we want to build our mini oak barn or garden studio. Quite a lot of logs were produced, which will provide future fuel for the log burner when dried, although we have ended up burning too many of them before they were properly dried on the open fire.
Our friend Danny Luckett came from Hurstpierpoint on the 11th March for a coup[le of days, and demonstratedf great skills with a sledgehammer. Obviously part of the job as an art director! By this time the office area was starting to look like it would provide some good living spaces.
On the 23rd Tom came again to get started on the electrics, bringing with him a friend Chris from his electrical college course. Somthing of a learning curve for them using the Firetuf cable.
In late March the Black Mountain sheepswool insulation had arrived - quite expensive compared to rockwool, and not as effective as something like Ecotherm, but very environmentally friendly and easy to use. A very distinctive smell of sheep though. Interestingly, when it gets damp it seems to generate heat and dry itself.
