		We moved in on 7th January, in the middle of heavy snowfall, and pretty quickly were reminded how badly insulated the house was. We concentrated on getting a few rooms - living, kitchen, and bedroom - sorted out so we could live there reasonably comfortably while we started work. Some quick and very basic decorating and taking up old carpets helped but the oid fired heating was very noisy and smelly - we discovered quite a serious oil leak later.
		On the 8th our architect Dominic dropped by to talk about the plans, and how we felt about what we wanted to do having actually moved in. By this point we had pretty much agreed the overall form of what we wanted and were getting more into the details.
		Not the warmest house we'd ever lived in, as shown by the fact that Helen tended to keep her hat in indoors - note also the logs, kindly delivered by Mike and Tracy Pepler,
