Class 130 Alvia at Gijon A Class 130 "Alvia" high-speed unit at Gijón, forming the 18.15 to Madrid on 16 September 2008. These units have adjustable axles to permit running on standard-gauge and broad-gauge lines.
Class 352 at Caceres 352 007 "Virgen de la Almudena", one of the purpose-built locomotives for Talgo services, is at Caceres with the "Luis de Camoes" 12.15 Lisboa to Madrid, on 9 March 1990. There is no longer a through daytime service between these two capitals.
Class 319 at Granada 319 302 at Granada with a single passenger coach forming the "García Lorca" service to Barcelona. Other coaches, originating from Almería and Málaga, will be added to this train en route.

Class 269 at Málaga 269 402 at Málaga with the 15.40 to Madrid, a "T200" service, on 14 February, 1998. This service starts its journey on the broad gauge line from Málaga, but at Córdoba the wheelsets are automatically adjusted to standard gauge on a special length of track , for the remainder of the journey over the high-speed line to Madrid.
