Longcase Clock by John Blaylock of Derby completed 1997

This clock was made by myself in the manner of the Blaylock Clockmakers of Longtown and Carlisle. The movement has Graham deadbeat escapement, Harrison maintaining power, woodrod pendulum, brass cased weights and is made in a similar style to one by John Blaylock (3) of Carlisle. The case of Brazilian mahogany has features found on the clocks made by John Blaylock (1) of Longtown.
The movement won first prize in the 1995 British Horological Institute competition for hand made clocks. A further clock is under construction but with the additional feature of moonphase to the arch of the dial.
