My name is John Blaylock and I am the owner and producer of this Website.

I am a non-professional horologist and Associate Member of the British Horological Institute, Membership No. 16621.

The purpose of these web pages is to assemble together information I have acquired on the Blaylock Clockmakers of the old county of Cumberland, England, and to share this information with other people who may be interested.

I have no commercial interests with the antique clock and watch trade.

The information provided in these web pages is correct and true to the best of my knowledge and belief.

I must make it clear however that the features I illustrate here relative to Blaylock clocks and watches, must not be taken as an endorsement by me of the authenticity of other clocks or watches signed with the Blaylock family name and which display the same or similar features.

Clocks and watches that come up for sale in the present time vary enormously in condition and originality. Some have only minor alterations which if done competently by a good restorer are of little consequence. Other alterations may cause the piece to be considered no longer genuine.

The assessment of a clock or watch for originality requires considerable skill and experience. Prospective purchasers of antique clocks or watches are urged to obtain guidance from a reliable source.

If you are aware of any inaccuracies with regard to the information contained in my web pages, I shall be pleased if you will send me an e-mail at my address shown below with the details concerned. I promise to investigate all alleged inaccuracies and to make corrections and/or deletions as found necessary.
