Battle of the Century! Or Something!

While I've found nothing to suggest that Black Lio Convoy is and evil version of the original, it is almost inevitable that a Western release of this model would have been rebranded Nemesis Prime, and given dark red eyes. Assuming this to be the case, here's a comparison/face-off between the two...

Thanks to the intricate system of joints, Lio Convoy is quite a posable figure.
The only real drawback is that his hips don't allow a huge range of motion,
and the lion parts on the shoulders, while dramatic to look at, hinder the movement
of the arms to some degree. The right shoulder is hit hardest.

Normally the black/grey/metallic turquoise would be applied to a Nemesis version,
but they tend to have either red or black eyes, whereas Black Lio Convoy has blue eyes.

In many ways, the original's lion mode looks far better - a black lion somehow doesn't quite
look right. I'm very fond of this model and black repaints, though, so I think this one is
pretty cool. I don't hink I'll be getting Flash Lio Convoy, however. A translucent/glittery
lion just doesn't work for me!
