Introducing Dogboat


Nested hand plotting coordinates for the Dogboat - which may be the most practical single-sheeter yet developed. The water line reaches the transoms at 200lbs displacement.

Sew the sides and transoms to the bottom in the usual way, and prop the sides apart using waste before taping - from the stern to about 30in from the bows the sides should be at right angles to the bottom.

As always, bouyancy and framing will be needed. I suggest they might be placed at 30.3in and 69.7in from the bows. Alternatively you may wish to build in a thwart in the middle and small decks at stern and bows.

Download a .dxf file containing some of my ideas about how this hull might be used A word of warning. One-sheeters are not children's toys, and are inherently dangerous and downright silly. They are best used by daft people who are strong swimmers, and who have access to safe waters on warm days.

 






















It doesn't look much, but it's better than any other one-sheeter I've been able to work out. The sheer is flat, by the way.
