Jump band formed in the 1980's in seaside resort of Southend in the UK. They
had lineup changes but settled on Jackson Sloane, vocals; John Willmott,
tenor sax; sister Chris Willmott, alto; Laurence Parry, trumpet; Steve
Weston, piano; Andy Stevens, guitar; Tony Wilsonham, bass; Neil Robinson,
drums; all this lineup were 60s children and as a young group were
searching back behind disco for some urban roots music, wearing zoot-suits
with wide ties and describing their stuff as '50s R&B/jazz dance music,
influenced by , Louis Jordan, Big Joe Turner among others. Played at Cork
Jazz Festival '84, played Kool Jazz Festival and gigs at the Lone Star NYC
