Flying in the shadow of big mountains
So far I have been lucky enough to able to
go to foreign climes and fly in the so called
Big Air.
My first trip was in 1995 to Turkey, Olu
Deniz to be precise, which is where most people go to do their SIV course.
The second trip was to Crete in 1996 which was actually a bit of an exploratory trip since the guy that organised it only got there a week before our group did.
Trip 3, again in 1996, was to Verbier in Switzerland. This one I organised myself and was the first time I really took responsibility for myself on the hill and in the air.
Winter flying in Lanzarote 1996, then again for Christmas in 1997 and November 2000. A place that mostly resembles the Moon or the surface of Mars. 4th trip in 2003. Very cold (for Lanzarote in February) No write up.
1997 Crete (again) . Read on and find out about my first, and hopefully last, accident. Since been back 2 more times.
1998 Chamonix, France Denis Trotts "Flyers Lodge" and Mont Blanc scenery
1999 Hotel California Flying in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, Southern Spain.
2001 Bulgaria Flying in Sopot and Montana
