Report:

Last Wednesday, the Fulham Prep Under 11 Football Team played in the Thomas’s London Day Schools Under 11 6-a-side Football Tournament. This was a knockout tournament with four games in the first stage, each lasting only 8 minutes with no half-time or changing of ends.

Our first game was against Latymer Prep. This was a nil-all draw. Latymer were always attacking which kept our defence busy throughout the game. On the final whistle, Latymer hit the cross bar and luckily it deflected out.

The second game was against the Thomas’s Battersea ‘A’ Team. This was a one-all draw with Matthew scoring our goal which was quickly followed by an equaliser from Thomas’s Battersea.

The third game was against Thomas’s Kensington. We did well to win this game one nil with Matthew scoring another goal.

We then had to wait while two other matches were played before our last game. We knew that we had to win or draw to get through to the next stage. Unfortunately, we lost two nil to the Westminster Under ‘B’ team and were therefore knocked out from the remainder of the competition.

Thanks:

To Mrs Collett and Mr Williams for their enthusiastic support and also to Mr Malheiros for his expert coaching and chauffeuring.
