In no particular order...

Gold Ryan Adams
Neil Young and Bob Dylan fans - wait no longer - the new messiah is here in the shape and warranted hype about 'newcomer' Ryan Adams. Already a veteran with 3 Whiskeytown and one previous solo under his belt. Rescue Blues and Rosalie Come And Go got me straight off, but it just gets better. It's a no nonsense album, nothing superfluous here, and has classic written all over it.

Lost Together Rembrandts
These guys have been too long away. Danny Wilde & Phil Solem back together again to give us perhaps their strongest album since Untilted. Strong, solid and mature songwriting from start to finish. Fave songs, too many - OK then: Some Other World, St. Paul, Lost Together, One of Us and Happiness - howzat? You'd better buy it then!

Tsar Tsar
Awesome, gargantuan - every thing about this is big. The guitars, the drums, the harmonies and the hooks. The first three tracks Calling All Destroyers, I Don't Wanna Break-Up and Silver Shifter, totally make you sit up and take notice from the beginning. Repeated plays makes others emerge, Kathy Fong, MONoSTEReo, Ordinary Girl and more. If you like your pop big like Cheap Trick, the Move, Shazam - this is a must.

Life On Planet Eartsnop Myracle Brah
Bringing up the rear again, for me, the first time I heard this mindblower from 1998 was last year. Wow! Getting Over Delusion - less than two minutes of utter pop perfection. I'm still getting into this album as I write. You can't gorge yourself all at one sitting - mucho chocca, it's cup runneth over. Andy Bopp is a new genius to die for.

Secrets Human League
Not Power Pop? - I don't think so! Dare perhaps one of the greatest marriages of Abba and Kraftwerk is recalled here. After years in the creative wilderness, this is a thorough and magnificent return to form. The single All I Ever Wanted, is a good a starting place as any - but it's all equally fab!

Waling Hours Waking Hours
Yes I know it's a 2 year old album - but new to me. This totally blew me away on first listen. Everything good about Pop abounds on this album. Not one bum track. Only, thing is, when the next one coming out?

Honorable Mentions
Super Furry Animals - Rings Around The World
Ben Folds - Rocking the Suburbs
Grip Weeds - Anything of the few tracks I've heard
David Grahme - ditto
Webb Brothers - Maroon
Teenage Fan Club - Howdy
Dandy Warhols - 13 Tales
Gay Dad - Joy (Single)
Jimmy Eat World - Bleed American
