PROGRAMME FOR 2022

It's advisable to let us know if you are planning to sing on a particular night as sometimes the singers list can be quite long.

12 January Singers Night

9 February Singers Night

9 March MEDDLING FOX
Moonlight Foxes (Fay Freemantle and Alan Lovegrove) meet Medlar Jam! We've always enjoyed Fay and Alan's music and are really looking forward to the combined band on this their 1st visit to Poppy's.

6 April WILDWOOD JACK
This is a welcome return visit from our Kentish friends Adam Piggott and Jayne Freeman. Adam is a great guitarist while Jayne plays ukulele and does most of the singing. They put on a very well received performance when they last played at Poppy's 3 years ago.

11 May GEOFF FOX
Geoff Fox, a popular performer at the club, has recently been playing with the Dalton Gang. Tonight we have enticed him to go solo, though he will no doubt invite the Gang to join him at times. His repertoire includes American, blues and jazz, as well as some self written material.

8 June SINGERS NIGHT
There are many excellent local performers who will have the opportunity to display their talents on a non guest evening. We encourage potential performers to contact us prior to the event to make sure we can fit them on the programme. It's usually 2, or possibly 3 songs.

FRIDAY 24TH - SUNDAY 26th JUNE - join us at BOARS BRIDGE FESTIVAL
Boars Bridge festival runs from Friday evening till Sunday night in N Hampshire. Details can be obtained from Lynne, the festival organiser, on the link above.

13 July SINGERS NIGHT
This is another open evening. As usual, we encourage potential performers to let us know beforehand, if possible, that they would like to perform - 2 or possibly 3 songs depending on numbers of performers present.

8 August NO CLUB DURING OUR AUGUST BREAK

14 September SINGERS NIGHT
This is another open evening. A chance for local or visiting musicians to entertain us.

12 October Feature evening with SUE GRAVES and members of Suntrap.
Sadly, due to circumstances beyond our control, Befine are unable to perform as advertised. However, in their place we have been lucky enough to book the ever popular SUE GRAVES, along with fellow members of Suntrap - MARY WILSON and TOM EVANS. We can be sure of an absolutely wonderful evening of music from the trio!

*** IMPORTANT NEWS *** Due to world cup football (on TV) and work being done in the Leisure Centre, the folk club will be meeting in the MEMORIAL HALL on the 9th November and 14 December. The post code remains the same - GU17 9BW.
DIRECTIONS
At the Hawley traffic lights on the B3272 turn into Fernhill Road as usual and then turn right (as usual) into the cul-de-sac (Hawley Gardens?) where the leisure centre is. Drive past the leisure centre and (about 200 yards further along?) the red brick building on the left is the Memorial Hall, with a large car park. (Beware of the speed bump as you enter the car park.)

9 November SINGERS NIGHT at the Memorial Hall
Another chance for local talent to be heard.

14 December Christmas Party at the Memorial Hall featuring RYEWOLF .
Local musicians will have a chance to perform in the first half. Our guests will entertain us in the second half with a programme of Christmas themed material.
